National Review: SCOTUS Agrees to Hear Case Challenging First Amendment Violations by Kamala Harris and Xavier Becerra against Conservative Nonprofits

The U.S. Supreme Court granted certiorari late Friday to hear Americans for Prosperity Foundation v. Becerra and its companion case, Thomas More Law Center v. Becerra. The two cases challenge significant First Amendment violations against conservative nonprofits by the California attorney general’s office, violations which started under Jerry Brown and flourished under his successors, Kamala Harris (now the vice president-elect) and Xavier Becerra (now Joe Biden’s nominee to run the Department of Health and Human Services, the largest civilian arm of the federal government). I discussed the case in detail in late October. It will likely be argued in the spring and decided around June.

Just The News: State Department viewed Burisma lobbying campaign as ‘aggressive, threatening, bullying’

"The memos — released to Just the News and the conservative Citizens United watchdog under separate Freedom of Information Act lawsuits — show State officials were acutely aware of the sensitivities of rebuffing a pressure campaign carried out by the Ukrainian natural gas firm that had hired then-Vice President Joe Biden's son."

"David Bossie, the president of Citizens United, said the release of the emails after the 2020 election deprived voters of making an informed choice about Joe Biden and illustrate why there is a need for a special prosecutor to examine the Bidens' dealings in Ukraine."

"'These are explosive documents, and that's why the State Department hid them from the public until after the election,' Bossie said. 'These emails make clear that what's currently known about the Obama-Biden Administration's dealings with Burisma and Hunter Biden is just the tip of the iceberg. The appointment of a special counsel is the only way to get to the bottom of this corruption.'"

Fox News: David Bossie: Liberal governors are strangling their economies and 'destroying the American way of life'

New Yorkers, Californians fleeing to Florida if they can, host Bongino says.

Citizens United chairman David Bossie, a deputy 2016 campaign manager for President Trump, said Monday that liberal governors are essentially strangling their own economies by either continuing or strengthening coronavirus lockdown measures that have decimated the restaurant and entertainment sectors.

Bossie said on "Hannity" that with New York State and California being the two most visible examples of such lockdowns, those that can afford to leave will do so.

"People with money are going to reject California, reject New York," he said. "Your average person in California right now is signing petitions to recall their incompetent governor. Enough is enough. The American people are fed up."

Bossie noted that California Gov. Gavin Newsom is likely to further extend his state lockdown orders.

Citizens United Amicus Brief Highlighted by The Federalist

Texas attempted in its briefs to crystalize the harm by stressing its interest in who serves as vice president, given the vice president’s tie-breaking status in the Senate and senators’ role as the representatives of the states. But a simpler and stronger argument came in a brief submitted by would-be amicus curiae Citizen’s United:

When one state allows the Manner in which Presidential Electors be chosen to be determined by anyone other than the state legislature, that state acts in breach of the presuppositions on which the Union is based. Each state is not isolated from the rest—rather, all states are interdependent. Our nation’s operational principle is E pluribus unum. Each state has a duty to other states to abide by this and other reciprocal obligations built into Constitution. While defendant states may view this suit as an infringement of its sovereignty, it is not, as the defendant states surrendered their sovereignty when they agreed to abide by Article II, § 1. Each state depends on other states to adhere to minimum constitutional standards in areas where it ceded its sovereignty to the union—and if those standards are not met, then the responsibility to enforce those standards falls to this Court.

CU In The News: "Trump campaign will name David Bossie, a political combat veteran, to lead its ballot battles team"

President Trump’s campaign is installing an adviser, David Bossie, to lead its efforts to challenge election outcomes in several states, a campaign official said on Friday.

Mr. Bossie was tapped by the Trump campaign manager, Bill Stepien, and the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to take on the role, as the president’s advisers have signaled that they plan to continue legal fights over the tabulation of votes in a string of states, officials said.

Mr. Bossie, Trump’s deputy campaign manager in 2016 and the head of the conservative advocacy group Citizens United, has survived partisan battles in Washington over the last 30 years. His combative approach appeals to Mr. Trump.

In the three days since the election, the Trump campaign has raised concerns and objections over voting issues in several states. Trump family members and loyalists have held news conferences claiming irregularities.

Breitbart: David Bossie: All Democrats Have Is Hate for this President

President of Citizens United, David Bossie, on Tuesday pointed out the Democrat Party was abnormally obsessed with President Donald Trump during their national convention.

"The one thing that the American people are going to take from this week is that the Democrats have no positive policy agenda for the American people," Bossie said. "All they have ... is their hatred for this president."

Bossie, who serves as an advisor for President Trump's re-election campaign, discussed the conventions during an interview with Breitbart News Political Editor Matthew Boyle on Breitbart News Tonight on Sirius/XM Patriot 125.

The two exchanged their views as the second night of the Democrat convention unfolded.

"These losers have nothing else to offer the American people, they hate this president, they hate him viscerally, they hate him with every fiber of their being, and they will do whatever it takes," Bossie continued.
